Abstract: In this competitive world where luck doesn't exist, only when preparation and opportunity intersect do we reach a point of achievement. The Professional and Public Programs are unique learning agent within The University of Texas at El Paso. Our mission is to provide high-quality continuing education. This includes ages starting at 5 years old non-traditional academic and lifelong learning opportunities for professional development, personal enrichment, and academic growth. We foster and support the University's overall mission to serve as a gateway to a better quality of life for the people of the Paso del Norte region.
BIO: Soco is dedicated and passioned of providing information for courses and programs for the Professional and Public programs. Soco had the opportunity and privilege to serve UTEP’s Professional and Public Program ppp.utep.edu for 21 years and counting. She was hired part time as a customer service representative in this Department of Professional and Public Programs (formed called (PACE) Professional and Continuing Education). Not being proficiency in the English language, the University gave her the opportunity to join the team. She is proud to mention that she escalated with hard work and dedication to be become a manager for different programs to mention one it was the English Language program and now the Community Outreach, Marketing and Advanced Placement manager.
She actively promotes the programs of the department by creating leads, going to events and being the Liaison between customers and Program Managers.
